My father died at 59 and his father at 58, and a lot had to do with weight. I was determined not to let that happen to me. I wanted to make a positive change. Media Executive Has Quick Success on The Liberation Diet

 

Dear Kevin:

What the?! It “had” to be something more than just eating only two meals in the day, resisting the urge to eat near bedtime but rather drinking 1-2 oz of Mangosteen water…yet the scale this morning showed 239.5 instead of the 245 it showed after my shower the preceding day.

Understanding God’s science and how it works in “our temple” is VERY HELPFUL in making the changes needed for a slim healthful life style. Understanding who the real fight is against is very helpful to me too. It’s no commercial but it is one more person joining the ranks.

I finally managed to read The Liberation Diet.
It’s brilliant! The book has a very strong Introduction and the use of The Matrix as an illustration was inspired. The writing style is also very easy to read for the layman and holds the interest; I wasn’t bored with it once. In many ways it is a ‘popular’ version of my latest book, Trick and Treat: how ‘healthy eating’ is making us ill. We both blame the ‘health industry’, BigFood and BigPharma, and advise eating a more natural, largely meat-based diet.

I loved The Liberation Diet. And although most of the content was known to me, I did learn things I hadn’t known. Thank you for that education.

Best wishes for the book. People need to know how they are being manipulated. The more copies of The Liberation Diet and Trick & Treat are sold, the sooner our people will have a chance to be healthy again as God intended.

“God Pours in a Solution!”

When we ask….God pours in a solution! I think our days of bloating, lethargy, too much weight and diabetes are over!
This email is to introduce you to Kevin Brown, of Visionary Trainers and the Liberation Diet.

Kevin Brown, is a personal trainer and nutrition expert (he’s using Weston A. Price principles, and getting results). I went to his presentation, read his book (Liberation DIet), and just now finished my consult with him.

I think his approach can help us!  His diet can get us low-blood-sugar-early-diabetes-Raymond’s back on the right track. For instance, without ANY grain carbs (and very little veg or fruit carbs – did you know fruits & veggies are carbs? I didn’t), I am NOT hungry, NOT snacking, and NOT tired when I walk morning, noon and night.
I used to eat several small snacks to keep my blood sugar up…but if I don’t eat carbs, my blood sugar stays stable. I ate breakfast at 10am to day, and haven’t had anything since – except iced tea, and I’m not hungry, nor fuzzy thinking. I’ll likely go to bed without eating anything else, so I can loose weight while I sleep. YIPPEE! I love that thought!
Kevin said something that really got me….the Sumo wrestlers in Japan get those huge weights by eating and then sleeping. How many late night dinners have I had, and then slept! YIKES!
I’m doing his online personal training program (LiberationFitness) with home weights. I’ve set the goal to loose 20# by the conference. Already I’m walking and sleeping better.  Kevin mentioned something to me that sleep apnea changes with this program too. I thought that would be a blessing for you.
We’ll have a high fat, low carb dinner on Tuesday when you come over to see mom…YUM.
I’m excited that our family history of cancer, heart problems, diabetes, overweight, low-energy can be a thing of the past.

Butter on the Move in Virginia!

Hi Kevin - 

Thank you so much for speaking to our Roanoke Valley Group last Tuesday. Everyone that attended was very happy to hear your talk and you received rave reviews. We look forward to having you back soon.
Personally, I had been on a “diet” from my Holistic Doctor that unfortunately is not a WAPFer. She had me on protein meal replacements, powdered greens and fiber powders. I was feeling better, but still fatigued and hormonal imbalances that created horrible mood swings and depression. She also had me drinking lots of water and eating before bed. I also have about 10 pounds of “stress” weight that I am looking forward to losing.
After your visit I stopped the powders, drink a lot less water and do not eat three hours before bed. I also cut out popcorn. I feel great!!! I have energy and no mood swings in just three days! Yea!!!

Help! They’re Trying to Poison my Baby!

 

To Mr. Kevin Brown,

My name is Ilsa Vega from South Jersey who has been blessed with two beautiful granddaughters. I would like to share with you my youngest granddaughter, who is two months old, amazing story.

My granddaughter, who was born in June of 2009, had the opportunity of being breast feed for only a few weeks due to her mother having complications.

My beautiful granddaughter was immediately introduced to the conventional formula (Lipil). I immediately started to see a transformation in a negative way. The baby started to have an awful greenish diarrhea with mucus. She became dehydrated and her skin became yellowish gray in color. She was also vomiting with full force projecting across the bed. The baby’s cry touched my soul. I never saw anything like this. I recall having my son who is now 31 years old, having similar symptoms, I trusted in his doctor and thinking my baby was safe, but now I see that I was wrong.

When my granddaughter was taken to her doctor’s visit, the doctor encouraged my son and daughter-in-law to continue feeding the baby formula, even when telling him about her symptoms. This time he ordered (Similac Soy). The outcome was even worse. The baby broke out in hives; her vomit and diarrhea were frequent. Her constant crying showed the signs of pain and distress. I was devastated that the doctors concern was zero to none for the baby. The interest was more for his payment then the life and well being of my granddaughter.

As a concern grandparent, I immediately started to do my research through the internet. I prayed that my Lord would enlighten me with information to save my granddaughter. The search was over, I was blessed in finding the Weston A. Price Foundation (Sally Fallon) and The Liberation Diet by Kevin Brown which had all the information I needed to save my granddaughter.

I immediately shared this information with my son and daughter in-law who were some-what reluctant and caught between natural remedies and the conventional life style which they were used too. I did not stop in provided them with information and sharing stories of natural results. They became attentive with my information. It only takes to plant the seed and knowledge will grow which will lead to taking actions to save a child. My son and daughter in-law decided to go with the natural remedies to feed the baby. In less than four days, the baby came back to its original state by not crying, vomiting or having diarrhea. Her color was a beautiful rosy pink. We were proud with the results.

Again my son and daughter in-law took the baby for the second visit with the Pediatrician. My son and daughter in-law who were proud of the results shared them with the doctor who to their surprise, became furious, irate and refused to listen to my son. He reprimanded my son and immediately arranged for three more vaccinations for the baby!

The doctor then left the room, came back with a can of formula and insisted that they feed the baby with it. My son was devastated and most of all hurt with the treatment his baby and he received from this conventional doctor who only cared for himself. Upon arriving home, my son and daughter in-law trashed the formula because that is what they felt, that it was trash being fed to babies.

Crying with happiness, my son, daughter in-law and I, decided to go full steam ahead with the Foundations formula and no more vaccinations for now. Today, the baby will be reaching her third month and has a beautiful radiant look and happy gestures with no side effects.

Ms. Sally Fallon and Mr. Kevin Brown, I thank my Lord and you from the bottom of our hearts for believing in natural remedies and sharing the finding with us. I hope that our story will encourage others to take action like we did to save our children. Words cannot express how we are feeling with our accomplishments with your help. As you know, at the start of this New Year, my husband and I decided we needed to make some major adjustments in our lives.  We had put on a tremendous amount of weight, were constantly tired, not getting our housework done and we were eating for recreational purposes.  Worse yet, our five year-old daughter was beginning to pick up all of our bad habits.

One night we were watching ‘The Biggest Loser’ and started talking about how we might apply these theories in our lives.  In the past, we have subscribed to a wide variety of fad diets and exercise machines.  Nothing was working and even

when we experienced short term results, the weight gain came on full-force shortly thereafter.  We realized we needed some solid guidance and support to get through this.  We decided there would be no more reading, no more experimenting and certainly no more roller coaster effect!

We also use the in-home cooking program provided by Liberation Wellness called Rachels Way. Rachel has helped us learn how to eat healthy and her service is so reasonable it is a no-brainer.

Within 3 weeks on this program, I lost 10 pounds (5.3% body weight) and my husband lost 15 pounds (6.5% body weight).  I am now currently down 51 pounds! We are not tired but full of energy.  We are not agonizing over a diet and food deprivation but loving our meals and feeling very fulfilled.    We are not spending any more money on this meal and exercise plan than we were before because we are not eating out anymore.  Instead we go out for activity and

pure entertainment. People are noticing the transformation and it feels great!  We continue to lose weight, our skin has better tone and our faces are rejuvenating.

Still, there are so many other benefits to share.  We now have energy to play actively with our daughter rather than sending her to her play room or the television.  We are getting our housework done and then some.  I personally have been so energized and crisp at the office that my productivity has increased by almost 25%. Whereas I was getting my work done within the day before, I now find myself over producing and/or asking for more.  My husband and I are getting ‘charged’ up again about each other as we were early in our marriage. Most importantly, we are now spending daily quality time together.  We are exercising, cooking, working on house projects, etc. Our daughter is learning the system and excited about it.  She enjoys participating in our exercise regimen where she can.  To put it quite simply, we feel great, we are loo

There aren’t many diet books that interest me anymore, especially one that I would sit and read fully in a single sitting.  However, “The Liberation Diet” easily kept me captivated throughout its entirety.   It is rare to find a book on diet today that is based on common sense and historical precedent.   Kevin Brown and Annette Presley have managed to cut through our contemporary nutritional garbage and bring to market a book constituted on solid dietary principles and a simple rationale.

Much of their content flies in the face of the vast majority of our current dietary “experts,” many of whom represent political and/or pure commercial interests.  What I found refreshing was how their suggested protocol aligned almost identically with one of the greatest natural bodybuilders of the 20th century, Vince Gironda.  In order to strengthen and state their case, Kevin and Annette went back in time to chronicle the works of our nutritional and Physical Culture pioneers.  They lay out a history that clearly supports their claim that our traditional North American dietary staples were sound in nutrition and facilitated excellent health.

The mandate of “The Liberation Diet” is to both free the general laymen of the current confusion surrounding healthy food and make simple alterations for safe and effective fat loss that have stood the test of time.  Hopefully this book will see wide spread distribution.  Excellent job!

Indiana Wants Me!

 

Hello, my name is Shelly Olivarez, I am 38 years old.  I am writing in regards to the book The Liberation Diet and what it has done for me.  I recently met Kevin, the writer of the book at Log house Restaurant in Argos, IN.  I was working and he and his co-author Annette Presley had happened to stop by to have lunch, on his way back from South Bend.  He had been on Lesea broadcasting. When he was about to leave I got to talking to him, and he had explained that he was on the show talking about his book .  So I asked what the book was about and I had told him that I watch Lesea all the time.  It is the only local Christian network in the area.

He started telling me about the book and what people should be eating.  I had told him that I had been struggling with my weight for many, many years.  So I purchased the book.  I read through it, meanwhile Kevin had called me and told me where I could buy real food.

I went and purchased some meats, cheese, milk, eggs.  At first I made no progress as the food I bought wasn’t very good because I went to a store I considered a Health store, but their food was far from healthy!

After speaking with Kevin, I made it over to the Sunny Meadow Farm, in Argos Ind. The milk there was Raw and the cheese and butter were top grade! This difference in food quality was the help I needed as I began to finally lose weight.

I have seen results within the first week.  It took me about 3-4 days to adjust to eating differently.  I got some headaches the first 3 days, with the withdrawal from the chemicals in the food I was eating (uhg!) but am now on my way.

I lost 3 lbs the first week, and I feel so much better.  Eating real food has made a big difference.  I don’t feel hungry in-between meals and I don’t have to count calories.

I have been praying about a solution to my weight problem.  I have tried multiple diets and I have never had promising results.  This is a God based diet that includes the right food and prayer before every meal.

I’m convinced it is because of God that I met Kevin at the restaurant I work at.  I know my prayer is now in the process of being answered, and I am on my way to a healthy fit body.

Gym Owner Becomes Biggest Loser!

 

Body Wise Gets Liberated and Weight Begins to Fly Off!

Before I met Kevin I weighed an embarrassing 217 pounds! I started packing on the pounds when I was in my late forties about 10 years ago and no matter what I did or tried I could not get the pounds off.

One evening I had gone with some business colleagues to a friend’s house for a Xango meeting, where I met Lori Ryan.   Lori is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and had been working with Kevin for several months and had been experiencing wonderful results due to his mentoring/counseling.  One of the first things she asked me was “have you heard of the Liberation Diet” when I said no she made an appointment to visit me the next day to explain.  During her visit, I was amazed at how misinformed I had been about many things. One of the biggest for me was water consumption.  I was addicted to water, I was consuming much more that the eight glasses that over the years we were told was recommended.  

During our meeting I purchased a copy of Kevin’s book ‘The Liberation Diet’ and decided at that point this was a plan that could work well for me.   Lori indicated that Kevin would be coming to our area in about a week and a half and if he was available would I find the time to meet with him.  Not only did we meet, he was able to give a presentation to members of the BodyWise gym that I am a part owner of.

From that time forward I have been changing the way I’ve been living my life, and results have been spectacular!

The change of eating habits was easy as I loved the rich, real foods, making the switch to real butter and raw milk was just as easy as I was lucky to have had both as a small child and tasting them again surprisingly brought back memories of how good things use to taste.

Since that initial meeting with Lori about 7 week ago I have lost 24 pounds! Also I am down one clothing size and very close to being able to claim 2.

As many of the members of my gym have been noticing my weight dropping several have also decided to make the change in their lives to real healthy eating.  Lori is currently working with me to set-up a ‘Biggest Loser’ contest in the community where the gym is located.

The support and encouragement I have received from both Lori and Kevin has been a true blessing.  My goal is to lose another 40 pounds and I have no doubt that this time I will make

Have you noticed that the sale of your book online from amazon.com is increasing?  I have bought (or they have bought) 3 more copies for people who are all asking me about your diet plan.     People are starting to listen and spread the word.  My niece, who is morbidly obese and always has been, has lost 7 lbs already and her IBS is so much better in just one week! Her father (my brother) called me and thanked me for helping her find a diet she could get excited about.  He has been so worried about her, but anything he could say to her would sound like criticism, so he was very grateful that I gave her the information. She bought the book the next day.  Another niece, who weighs over 300 lbs, asked me to get your book for her.  I hope she can work the diet into her life, because her schedule is such that she eats on the run all the time.

A friend at work has ordered your book and is all excited about it, and she has referred another co-worker, who is on a protein shake/nutrition bar diet (no real food) and working out 12 hours a week.  I showed her my copy of your book, and she said that it made a lot of sense, but I’m not sure she’s willing to go off her doctor-supervised diet of food that her father lost 50 lbs on in 3 months.

I have lost 10 lbs, which I really didn’t set out to do. My goal was to reduce my risk of cancer.   Lots of people are asking me about the diet, and one person said that my skin tone looked smoother and another said my hair looked shinier! Who knew?  I really have been spending a lot of my time at work talking about your ideas about food.  People are finally seeing the sense in it.

My aunt is harder to convince, but she just asked me to send her a copy of your book from amazon.com (she won’t use her credit card online).  She has a very skeptical side, and she also believes that most things in the government and media are manipulated, so I could see her making sense of the reason for real food being put down in favor of processed food, given the role of the FDA, the AHA, and the USDA.  She just might buy into it, as she is very self-disciplined about her diet, because she borders on diabetes.

My parents have stopped using Smart Balance in favor of butter now, as a result of my pleading and showing them that butter was really the better alternative.  I hope to get my mom off soy milk and my dad off white bread.  My dad has incredible carb craving cycles, and he is a borderline diabetic.  He’s going to be a hard sell, since he loves his desserts and candy.

Anyway, I wanted to thank you for writing the book.  It has helped so many people already and I wouldn’t be surprised if it became a best-seller.  I’m certainly doing my part to spread the word.  Thanks for telling the truth!

Rob has had scoliosis since the age of 12. His back pain has prevented him from enjoying all aspects of life for many years. He has lost 20 lbs and is experiencing less pain since eating the liberation way! He loves his bacon and eggs everyday and can’t live without his supplements as he notices a huge difference if he misses them. Real milk and Real butter are staples in the refrigerator and coffee with Real cream is a necessity now. The best thing about feeding Rob now is he isn’t hunger 2 hours later….I was in the kitchen all the time. I AM SO EXCITED!!

 

FYI,  great diet………  great book! just a fun update……… from Jen

On my week of vacation I tried this new diet that my girlfriend and colleague Michele Tate had lost 40 lbs on,  “The Liberation Diet”.  I read the book from March through now,  so I could pump myself up.

You pretty much eat organic, grass feed meats,  very low carbohydrates, and believe it or not a lot of cooking in organic butter/ I did walk every day with my mom which was fun.

You clean out all the MSG, hormones, and chemicals from food from your diet. Also interesting on the 6th or 7th day you fast,  well as hungry as I am all the time,  I thought there was NO WAY I could ever fast even 8 hours.

Well, fasting on day 7 was SO EASY I am shocked! I wasn’t hungry at all and that is SOOOOOOOOO not like me. LOL  J

Plagued with gastrointestinal problems since the age of 27, I have tried numerous diets, medications, and alternative remedies with little success. I really didn’t expect that The Liberation Diet would be any different. But, if I had this information back then, I could have spared myself years of suffering!

I was skeptical at first, especially the part about drinking raw milk. Like most people, I had been programmed to believe that real milk was somehow dangerous. I was also convinced that I had to consume huge quantities of fiber each day to stay “healthy.” Over the years, I kept wondering when the bloating, cramps, and pain would disappear.

Then, I had the opportunity to meet one of the authors, Kevin Brown, and hear his amazing presentation. Some of his suggestions seemed rather strange. How could I possibly eat eggs, bacon, butter, cheese, and red meat? Wait, I love all those things, but won’t they make my symptoms worse? I thought, “What have I got to lose?”

I started gradually by changing one meal at a time. For breakfast, instead of my cardboard-tasting cereal with low-fat milk, I had farm-fresh eggs, bacon, sausage, and real milk. Over the next few weeks, I replaced my high-fiber bread and fiber supplements with more real dairy and proteins. I added some Greek yogurt and kefir as a snack or for those rare times when I felt hungry.

Talk about a liberation! I noticed improvement during the first week, even though I was only making slight changes to my diet. For years, I had to plan my day around meals and proximity to bathrooms. For those who suffer with GI problems, you know what I mean! But now, I’m free. I can eat whenever I want – including only two meals a day without being hungry – and go on long trips without fear.

So, if you’re thinking about joining me on The Liberation Diet, here’s a simple test. Read the book and gradually change your diet to real food. Then, go back to a high-fiber diet loaded with other carbohydrates as suggested by the USDA “food pyramid” and observe what happens. That sluggish, low-energy, bloated feeling will prove which is better!

Gettysburg Girl Loses 41- so far!

 

I am one happy loser!

After hearing Kevin speak a few weeks ago and purchasing his book, I have been so motivated!  Not just because of the excellent information and Kevin’s motivating words, but because I am following Kevin’s advice and *it is working*!!!

Within the first few days I had lost 3 pounds, and now am up to 41!  I haven’t been able to shake this weight for years and now it is almost melting right off of me!  All I am doing is following Kevin’s good advice about diet, meal frequency and times, cutting out all types of sugars, and getting moderate exercise.  This makes losing weight actually feel easy-an attainable goal!  My husband is thrilled with what is happening, and I can hardly wait for his pleasing approval as I return to a more youthful, attractive form!  By the end of the summer I plan to have lost at least 25 more of the 50 or so that I need to lose to be back to my formerly slender figure.

Liberation Diet Winning War Against Palsy!

 

Hi Kevin,

 I have been following your Liberation Diet for over a couple of months now and have followed your supplementation recommendations.

 In November ‘08 I had been hospitalized with a severe case of Bell’s Palsy. Even intravenous morphine barely touched the pain associated with BP. After 2 weeks on morphine and extreme fatigue, I was introduced to you by my good friend Brenda Cook. She brought hope back into my life with a Mangosteen Juice called Xango.

 The Medical Specialists had told me that I would never get any movement back in my face because of the severe damage done to the seventh cranial nerve. I tried chiropractic, acupuncture and herbal remedies and even biofeedback therapies, to no avail. 

In February 09 Brenda shared with me you and your Liberation Diet Program. I hired you as my nutrition coach and we went over the Liberation Diet program over the internet. I was amazed at the information and knew that although it was very different from what I was taught in school, I was a physical wreck and my own treatments and therapies were useless!

 I became Liberated that day and started eating correctly right away. I began noticing an immediate increase in energy and stamina and knew I was on the right track. A few weeks later, with Gods help, I was able to locate some real dairy (RAW) and, now things really started improving. As you recommended, I started implementing fasting as part of the Liberation Diet, and beacause of my health problems, some extended fasting was encouraged.

 In the last few weeks I have been able to feel, taste and move my mouth and chin. I can smile again. My eye doesn’t require eye drops hourly anymore. I don’t need to tape my eye shut at night and I can blink once again.

 I was also going to the ophthalmologist every two weeks and since I have followed your regime, my eye sight has improved and I know longer have dry patches on my lens.

 The fasting for 9 days presented most amazing results. The muscles in my chin are now working.

 Side benefits have also been wonderful. My bowel movements are regular and easy. I had IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and only went once every 4 days, if that. I had also little control of my bladder and was unable to sleep through the night because of frequent bathroom visits. I am full of life now and there is no going back. God has been gracious to me through your efforts.

Nutrition Expert Overcomes Doubt, and Gets Liberated!

 

Dear Kevin,

The Liberation Diet is a food plan that does just that… liberates from the current beliefs about healthy food from the last 50 years, and regenerate beliefs from previous decades.

Raw and fermented foods tastes great, fat is good for you, don’t eat too many meals a day. Can you believe it?

I didn’t at first. I had been trained with a bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science and had a difficult time wrapping my head around the ideas in this food plan.

Following modern day diet ideas, with a hefty dose of Soy on the menu, my health deteriorated over time (as most Americans also discover) and eventually I developed cancer. I underwent treatment for cancer in 2006-07 and got way out of shape and gained 15-20 lbs.

I have spent many years with chronic health problems, and finally came to the realization that the protocols about nutrition that I knew from my education were doing nothing more than making me sicker! Efforts to get back in shape and lose the excess weight weren’t doing what I wanted. I knew something was dreadfully wrong, but couldn’t find any truth. Everything I was reading, and everything I learned in school told me I should be thin and healthy, but I was sick and fat.

I met Kevin about 6 months ago and saw his health and vitality and realized we were about the same age. My conclusion was – whatever it is he’s doing is obviously working, and what I’m doing isn’t.

Kevin went over the Liberation Diet with me one-on-one, and it blew me away! I knew what he was telling me was true, but it was so different than what I had learned in school, I had trouble putting feet under it. I wanted to change my health, but I resisted.

A few months later I attended a lecture at the Awakenings Wellness Center, in Maple Glen PA. where Kevin was speaking on the Liberation Diet, and I was re-inspired to really give it a try.

I finally started to implement some of Liberation Diet concepts, but was still doing much of my old diet. I struggled for 4-6 wks, trying to follow the plan. I was literally afraid to eat some of the “Liberation” foods. Carbs and I parted slowly and I began to eat more and more of the foods as suggested. I still wasn’t convinced so I got tough with myself. Enough is enough, I said! I had a breakthrough…Liberation!

Results finally did follow. I’ve started to shed-weight and have lost 8 pounds quickly. This is the first weight loss I have been able to achieve in 3 years! My health is starting to improve also. I have finally got my mind “Liberated” enough to follow what I am sure is the right diet at last.

Nexium No Longer Welcome!

 

Dear Kevin,

I have to admit that my housemates and I were skeptical when you told us about the Liberation Diet a few weeks ago.  It sounded too good to be true and, Lord knows, we’ve tried many promising diets in the past.  But your approach made sense and we decided to give it a chance.  After only two weeks, we’re all feeling better.

We started by weaning off excessive carbs, diet sodas, and artificial sweeteners, and replacing them with fresh whole milk, eggs, butter, bacon, and other real foods.  The only problem is that as we’ve become used to fresh food from the farm, we no longer like the taste of the ultra-processed foods that used to dominate our diet.

In addition to not being hungry all the time, I’ve noticed that I don’t seem to need a daily Nexium anymore. If I had known that I could relieve acid reflux and other digestive problems with real food, I would have started eating it a long time ago!

Thanks again for telling us about the Liberation Diet and giving us the opportunity to discover real food again!

Client Reverses Diabetes with the Liberation Diet!

 

Dear Kevin,

First I’d like to personally thank you so much for coming into our lives with your Liberation Diet. We have seen miraculous changes thus far and it’s been less than a week! We’d like to share with you just how much success we are having because of the eating habits you’ve introduced to us.

My husband, Ed was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and had to take a pill every day to bring his sugar level down. Even with the medicine, his levels never once got below 139. Once we met with you and began the Liberation Diet, immediate changes started to appear. After about 4 days of eating the right foods and listening to your instruction, his sugar went down significantly. He tried reducing his prescribed dose by cutting his pills in half. Ed checked his sugar one day, after having half the dosage, and read a low 55. It was then that he realized that he could stop taking his medicine; all in less than one week. Since he has been following your diet and went off his medications, his blood sugar level is consistently averaging under 100.

Ed also has arthritis in both knees and has had an operation on his shoulder due to dislocation. He has never been able to be consistent, in his adult life, with exercise. The trainer, Patrick, whom you assigned him, has custom-fit exercises to his physical conditions. He now has a steady routine of stretching and exercising and I even enjoy doing them with him.

It started off as a desire for a cure to my husband’s diabetes and joint pain, and ended up being a huge transformation that exceeded our expectations. Aside from going off his medication and gaining flexibility again, Ed has lost 17 lbs in one week and I have lost 9. We are so excited. We enjoy what we eat, eat the way we now believe God intended us to, and are full and satisfied.

30 Years of Diet Frustration, Ends With “Liberation”

 

Dear Kevin,

Thank you for the opportunity to tell my story.

I am 66 years old and have always been a sugar addict. This means that I would be unhappy if I was unable to have something sweet every day. Most of the time I would deliberately avoid obvious sweets like deserts and candy, not knowing that all carbohydrates becomes sugar and then fat. I thought that whole wheat bread and root vegetables were quite virtuous foods and the staple of good eating along with an egg, skim milk, some meat, lots of salad and lots of fruit. I would have hunger attacks wanting more entertaining eats like cakes, cookies, and especially ice cream, lots of ice cream at a time. I couldn’t get enough of it. As I got older I slowly gained weight like everyone seems to do and couldn’t figure out how to get it off.
I have tried to lose weight for 30 or so years, counting calories, counting points with Weight Watchers, eating vegetables, fruit, and complex carbohydrates as a dedicated vegetarian, eating a balanced diet with LA Weight Loss and being rewarded with their sugary food bars each day–feeding my addiction. I developed thyroid and adrenal problems, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Interstitial Cystitis eating what is popularly known as “low fat, high carbohydrate, lean meats, diet soda, skim milk” eating. I exercised hard until it became boring, time wasting with travel, costly for the gym and trainers, and it just didn’t work! I was discouraged mightily by long years of trying, my weight going down a little then back up, buying clothes that were getting dowdier and larger. Hopelessness was an undercurrent of my life. The trouble was, I wanted to lose all the weight and be rewarded by going back to the sweets and ice cream way of eating that had made me overweight in the first place!
Recently my husband and I attended a Weston A. Price chapter meeting lecture by nutritionist Kevin Brown on the Liberation Diet. I was amazed at the information I heard and determined to make a commitment to follow through with this unique diet program that just made so much sense.
Well, times have changed. I learned to eat real food and healthy fats, the way traditional cultures thrived, exercising moderately, and eating enough and then stopping. I eat twice a day with no cravings, and I’m as amazed as you about that! Although I haven’t been able to lose weight for 30 years, I’ve allready lost seven pounds, using a scale that can show me my weight by the eighth of a pound, so I know the direction is down. My weight no longer goes up and down, just down. I look forward to late breakfast and supper because I can eat tasty and satisfying meals and not feel deprived. My rewards are not sweets, but a slimmer figure, ability to move more freely, and confidence. This time all the weight will come off, and it will stay off because I don’t need to go back to eating the old way.

I also have implemented the LiberationFitness.com online fitness program for direction and accountability in exercise. Liberation Fitness has a wonderful online fitness routine designed just for me, and I exercise faithfully at home when it is convenient. I have exclusive rights to the equipment, the music, and privacy to oomph and puff all I want to without anyone in my way. My Locker also provides a weekly menu that is user friendly and helpful. I actually look forward to working out, and my two puppies admire my efforts very much.

I Feel Healthier Than I Ever Remember…

 

Dear Kevin,

I just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know how Doug and I have made out in our first month on the Liberation Diet, and with our trainer, Bob Higgins.  Things are going quite well. At this point, I have lost 15 pounds, and Doug has lost too (although he doesn’t make

a habit of looking at the scale like I do, so he’s not sure how much he’s lost. At least 15 I’m sure.) Given that I have dieted, and dieted, and dieted on and off for the past 7 years and NOT lost weight that I didn’t gain back right away, the fact that I’ve lost

15 pounds so quickly and “painlessly” is an awesome feeling!

Both Doug and I have made the changes to our diets that you recommended in your book. In addition to our cutting out processed foods, we’ve gone natural–drinking raw milk, eating cheese produced from the milk of grass -fed cows, eating eggs from free-range chickens, and eating yogurt and sauerkraut for their fermentation properties. We’ve found two great sources near our home– the Welsh Mountain Farm and Dutch Meadows Organic Dairy–both in Lancaster County thanks to the

website you gave us–(Realmilk.com).  What I notice most is that I feel healthier than I ever remember feeling while on a “diet.” I’m eating natural, unprocessed fo

od, and my cravings for junk food and candy are GONE.  In fact, this past Easter holiday, not once did I crave candy, or feel deprived not eating candy. I simply wasn’t interested. Trust me, this is absolutely unheard of.

I mentioned Bob, the trainer you hooked us up with.  He is fabulous.  Not only is he working with us on weight training (which is why we went to Visionary Trainers in the first place), but he creates an atmosphere where “working out” is fun.  It’s not about drudging 2-3 miles on the treadmill for an hour after work each day. It’s about getting home and going outside and having fun. We’ve been playing badminton, tennis, throwing a ball around the yard and just having fun with our workouts.  Our training is a breath of fresh air, literally and figuratively. Thanks for matching us up with Bob. His personality and philosophy really matches up with what we need at this point in our lives.

So that’s the good news. I’m sure there will be more to share in the coming weeks and months. We’re happy to be off to such a great start.

Initiating a fitness program at the age of 61 and with many years of non-athletic lifestyle, my expectations were almost laughable. 

testimonialI signed up with Visionary Trainers in January, 2008; with a goal to lose a middle-age "spare tire" and build some muscular definition.  Initiating a fitness program at the age of 61 and with many years of non-athletic lifestyle, my expectations were almost laughable.  I started working out 1/24/08 (5'-11" and weighing about 166 to 168#), working out three times a week, 2 workouts with the trainer and one more solo.  You could not say that I was overweight, but I was definitely out of shtestimonialape, with a distinct belly.  Within the first three months, I started shedding body fat and my weight dropped to 162#.  But then, I started gaining weight again (alarming at first!) and learned that I was now building muscle and gaining mass.  I reached 175.0# on 7/23 and about a week later, I started to run 3-days/week (alternating days with the weight training), following a 10-week plan for slowly building up the joints and stamina to jog 3 miles.  In reality, it took me many more weeks to reach the 3-mile goal... just a week ago in mid-October.

On 9/9 I weighed in at 172.0# (the few pounds loss attributed to running) and today (10/15/08) at 169#. The "belly" (not the waist) started at 39.0" back on 1/24 and since 9/24 has held steady at 35.0"... you can even see some abs muscle definition, though far from a 6-pack!  The upper arms (biceps/triceps area) are over 2" bigger than when I started, and the chest has grown 2.5" to 41.5". The thighs don't show as much change (an inch max and holding steady due to running, but hard & solid), and calves show about 3/4" increase.

Yesterday, I had to wear a suit and tie and was amazed at how much my body has changed.  The pants were loose, but the jacket was tight around my back and shoulders and the sleeves (from the growth of chest, back and shoulders) were too short.  I guess I should look at that as all good!  I'm hoping to continue on to improve to the next level, and am mixing in some bodyweight training to further the physical and my personal challenge.  

Honestly, I must admit that when I looked at all the pictures (and compared them side-by-side), I was pleasantly surprised.  I took the pictures myself using a tripod and the timer feature on the camera, so I was also able to take shots from angles one normally cannot see of one's own body.  If I may say so myself, I've come a long way!

Drug-Free and Happy Together

Absolutely everything Kevin Brown told my husband and I could happen if we followed his recommended way of eating, supplements and exercise did happen in a very short period of time. We followed Kevin’s recommendations, to a lesser and now greater degree for about six weeks. We have lost weight, were relieved of chronic pain, no longer require certain medications, have more stable moods, less stress, an improved life and in many ways an improved relationship.  We experienced some of these results right away and saw all of them in about four weeks. We did not follow the program precisely but we did commit to it long term. Our goal was simply to loose some weight but we have seen much more pervasive and profound effects. We highly recommend that you give it serious consideration.

Dean and I are by nature skeptical. We are both in high pressure competitive industries and not inclined to trust people or feel good programs that will ‘change your life’. However, a very dear friend had asked me to join her to hear Kevin Brown speak about nutrition and lifestyle. She told me Kevin had a great message that I needed to hear because it would revolutionize they way I thought about nutrition, and of course, it would ‘change my life’. I admired her enthusiasm but it would take a lot more than an hour lecture to revolutionize anything about me.  I am 46 years of age and have been reading diet books, going on and off diets, joining and quitting gyms, staying at health spas, researching nutrition and reading self help books for at least 30 of those years. I wasn’t expecting anything new or anything that I would or could follow for more than a week. Remarkably, what I heard was a very new message about a very old and common sense way of eating and living that was brilliant in its simplicity. Kevin Brown suggested that we eat the way healthy societies have been eating for at least as long as those habits had been recorded. He recommended we use common sense and stop eating artificial synthetic food. Eat fats, protein and limited carbohydrates from raw milk products, eggs and grass fed animals. Eat fruits and vegetables in season which are grown locally and without pesticides and eat bone based soups. Don’t wash the salts and nutrients from your system through excessive drinking of water. Eat two or at most three meals a day and exercise. Kevin explained that our modern foods are loaded with MSG and chemicals which set up a craving for more food and kept society fat. He implored the group open our eyes and take an honest look at the degree to which we succumbed to food industry marketing.

I was impressed and signed up to have Kevin come to our home for an hour session so that my husband could hear Kevin’s program. Dean was not receptive even a little to the idea – but he agreed. Both my husband and I are were overweight and becoming unhealthier. We had talked for over a year about doing something about it but were too tired to ever take action. Our eating habits and lack of exercise affected the way we felt physically, our moods and the amount of medications we required. At 42 my husband was already pre-diabetic, on high blood pressure medications, and on non-narcotic pain killers which he required daily to alleviate chronic pain associated with two back surgeries. These medications were required just to allow him to get out of bed in the morning and move with some flexibility. All of these conditions were aggravated by the extra weight. I had gained 20 pounds since we were married and was at least 25 pounds overweight. I was on low doses of anti-depressants which I thought I should no longer need but couldn’t seem to cut out. I had been trying to wean myself off of them for a year, with my doctor’s knowledge, after taking them for nearly 10 years. We felt bad and we were beginning to look bad. We had all the side effects of unhealthy living from lack of energy to mood swings to depression. So we listened to Kevin’s message and we heard it. He weighted us and he told us to set goals and to make a commitment.  My husband was at 303 pounds with an initial goal of losing 50 pounds in 8 months. I was at 144 with a goal of 25 pounds in 3 and half months. We decided to commit to this regardless of our skepticism – I believe it was the fact that this was a program that made sense and included foods we liked to eat.

We found local farms on line and we started to visit them - buying all of our raw milk products, eggs and grass raised meat products locally as Kevin had taught. We began taking cod liver oil, a mineral supplement and Xango daily. We got rid of the fake food in our home. Still we didn’t dive in all at once. This was right before the Holidays and we did supplement Kevin’s diet with the usual cookies, chocolates and rich food which abound that time of year – but we didn’t want as much of these things. Something was already changing in our attitudes and preferences about food. After the Holidays in January we were more consistent and by January 14, my husband, who had not yet started an exercise program, had lost 17 pounds and I had lost 7 pounds. These were not the only effects. I was able to finish with anti-depressants – not through a great conscious effort. I simply didn’t need them anymore. My husband’s chronic pain had diminished to the point that he has not needed to take any prescription pain medications for his back and is comfortable with less harmful over the counter pain relievers. This was not one of his goals or even a consideration in our new eating style. He was surprised; as I was that we didn’t seem to need certain meds we had previously required. Obviously we look better physically.  I started with a personal trainer and Dean is now seriously considering beginning his exercise program – so we are feeling the physical improvement.

But another real bonus has been that we are mentally and emotionally better. It has been relaxing and fun to go every week to a farm together, to sit down to meals and to have committed to a type of lifestyle together. It is a new and responsible way of life that we share and it has had the unexpected benefit of making us even closer in our relationship. 

This is not like the numerous diets I have experienced and gone off of without much thought. We now know from experience that our eating habits had been quite literally toxic. We have learned how we were meant to eat and having experienced that sensible way of life, the cessation of food cravings, greater energy and greater well being simply would not consider giving that up. We encourage the most skeptical to consider Kevin Brown’s approach to life and we’re confident many successes will follow.

Muscular Dystrophy Improved

Dear Kevin,

I want to thank you for all that you are doing for me. As you know, I've been struggling with this strange disorder called Muscular Dystrophy for over twenty years. I know that I am one of the more fortunate ones living day-to-day with this disorder, my muscle wasting more of an annoyance than completely debilitating. Fasting works for me!

I want to thank Kevin Brown for all his information on the Liberation diet. I’ve struggled with my weight for 20 years. As my weight slowly crept past 200 pounds, I really began to lose hope.   I tried so many of those fad diets out on the market, I lost track of the count.  Finally, I decided I would consult a doctor on having gastric by-pass surgery.  Well, the doctor said I wasn’t fat enough!  He said I would have to gain about another 20 pounds before I would qualify for the surgery.  I thought that was one of the craziest things I’d ever heard: “o.k., let me get this straight; I need to gain 20 pounds in order to get skinny?!”  My sister told me I needed to meet Kevin Brown and hear his message on the Liberation Diet.  I agreed, because at this point, what did I have to lose, other than about 100 pounds?  After listening to Kevin, I thought his program would be impossible, because I simply just loved to eat.  His idea of fasting was the most ludicrous part to me!  How could I go without a meal? I would starve! 

            Well, I started the diet slowly; changing my eating habits a step at a time, but I have managed to lose 55 pounds in just 5 months. And the fasting part of the diet was the thing that really helped me get past cravings and shrink my stomach, and now continues to help me keep from eating junk food.  I used to be a binge and comfort eater.  Now I eat when I’m hungry and don’t eat when I’m not.  I highly recommend the Liberation Diet for people who have struggled with their weight for years and years.  And don’t be afraid to fast!  It really works!

Help with Sheehan's Syndrome

Just a note to say I am immensely pleased with my training sessions! I am extremely pleased with the results. I can comfortably wear my skirts again! I can wear jeans! I can tuck a blouse in! I have lost five pounds.

Everything else has either shifted back to the right place or been converted to muscle!
